Paid plans have no monthly browsing allowance for the saved title catalogue in their included marketplaces. Browse, search and filter the available books as often as you need. It does not mean an unlimited number of books exists, or unlimited fresh provider lookups. Category searches, deep-dives, marketplace checks and other metered tools keep their plan allowances.
What does AuthorScout do?+
It helps you find promising book ideas, check demand, choose categories, analyze book history, compare Amazon marketplaces, track competitors, and screen titles for trademark conflicts. You can research from the website, Chrome extension, or a connected AI.
Can I use AuthorScout from ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or Grok?+
Yes—where that AI account supports MCP connections. Connect AuthorScout once, then ask the AI to use profitable-title discovery, category research, title search, book analysis, marketplace comparison, and tracking during the conversation.
Does AuthorScout MCP require another subscription?+
No. MCP access is included with your AuthorScout Pro subscription. There is no separate MCP plan or second AuthorScout payment, and your normal Pro usage limits still apply.
Can AuthorScout help me choose KDP categories in different countries?+
Yes. Category Search and Category Explorer cover all 12 supported Amazon category marketplaces. You can choose a marketplace, search its native category tree, and compare relevant category paths before uploading your book.
Are the books on this page real?+
Yes. The examples are unique records from AuthorScout marketplace snapshots. At capture time, every displayed example had one review, was less than 30 days old, and had an Amazon sales rank below 20,000.
How are estimated royalties calculated?+
They are directional estimates after print-cost allowance. The calculator applies KDP's published rates, price bands, delivery charges, and printing-cost tables to what you enter, but you should still confirm the final amount in KDP before publishing.
Do I need to pay?+
No. The free plan includes useful research tools, Amazon page analysis, selected profitable titles, category searches, book deep-dives, marketplace checks, audiobook signals, and publishing calculators. Pro adds the complete feed, higher limits, advanced search, category exploration, tracking, trademark screening, and MCP access.
Does it work outside Amazon US?+
Yes. Profitable Titles covers the US, UK, Germany, and four other marketplaces. The pricing page shows which marketplaces each plan includes. Category Search and Category Explorer cover 12 Amazon category trees; Book Rank Across Marketplaces checks one ASIN across 10 live stores; Book Analysis, Book Deep-Dive (BSR, price, and review history), and Book Tracker keep the selected marketplace with the book; and the calculators use local currencies and marketplace rules. Trademark Checker can screen a title before any marketplace launch using the connected USPTO and EUIPO registers.
